I do not know if people are aware of how magnificent a smile is, and what wonders it can have on another’s life. I will never forget a time ago when I was young and dealing with some hardship that burdened my day, and when I thought all hope was lost, a young boy passed by and smiled my way.
“Smile,” said the boy, “the world will smile with you.”
Of course, his smile forced me to smile–as they are often contagious–and from then on smiling made everything feel just that much better. I try my best to remember this when tragedy pays me a visit, and the corners of my lips try to force me into a frown.
There truly is a cure in smiling—a cure that can turn the darkest of worlds around.
